The Friends in Need of PA Volunteers Foundation is inviting members of the public to its annual Puen Pueng Pa Fair, which is being held at Queen Sirikit Park on Kampangpetch 2 Road. The fair will host a large number of vendors, including the Pueng Pa shop and other stores under royal patronage. Proceeds from the fair will be used to help flood victims nationwide. The Center for Economic Situation Administration (CESA) has approved the second phase of the Co-pay campaign, which will accept more participants with more allowances. According to the Fiscal Policy Office, the campaign will maintain its core 50% subsidy of various daily expenses for no more than 150 baht per day.The office explained that the second phase will increase the number of participants by another 5 million, with each participant -- including existing ones -- having a total allowance of 3,500 baht to spend from January 1st to March 31st, 2021. Prime Minister Gen. Prayut Chan-O-Cha had ordered every governor, especially those in provinces that share a border with a neighbouring country, to prevent illegal entries. Security-related agencies and locals are also required to cooperate with each other to report suspicious activities, after illegal workers were found to have been smuggled into the country, causing deep concern of COVID-19 infections. The prime minister also stressed that the police and the Immigration Bureau must strictly enforce the law, given the potential negative effects on the public when people are smuggled into the kingdom. The prime minister also lauded the efforts of officials in sectors such as security and public health, as well as those in the police force, soldiers and volunteers, for their hard work since early this year in fighting COVID-19. The Prime Minister has asked people not to panic over reports of new locally transmitted COVID-19 cases, stressing that the situation remains manageable. Prime Minister and Defense Minister General Prayut Chan-o-cha has asked those who believe they are at risk of infection, or staying in high-risk areas, to be mindful, while the general public should remain cautious regarding persons entering the country illegally and report suspected cases to the authorities. The Internal Security Operations Command, administrative officials, provincial labour officials, and local immigration police are currently working to monitor for illegal border crossings, while dismantling a trafficking network which has facilitated illegal crossings, in order to prevent any possibility of people with COVID-19 entering the Kingdom. Prime Minister General Prayut Chan-o-cha is very concerned over the flood situation in seven southern provinces and has given orders for related agencies to mobilize manpower and disaster mitigation equipment and tools, and for the royal mobile kitchens to rush in helping out affected victims and mitigate their plight until the situation returns to normalcy. Surveys of damages and rehabilitation plans are to be conducted in accordance with related regulations. The Prime Minister also has a plan to visit the affected area. (04/12/2020)
The month of December is a significant time for Thai people, as festivities are held throughout the Kingdom in celebration of the birthday of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej The Great (Rama IX), on December 2020, which is also observed as Thailands National Day and National Fathers Day. On that day, at 07.30 hr, there will be an alms-giving ceremony for Buddhist monks and novices at Sanam Luang ceremonial ground in Bangkok, followed by a tribute-paying ceremony at 08.30 hr. A candle-lit function in remembrance of the late King will be held nationwide at 19.19 hr. In Bangkok, it will take place at Sanam Luang. This ceremony will also be held in foreign countries. The Friends in Need (of Pa) Volunteer Foundation, under the Thai Red Cross, has invited the public to join Puen Pueng Pa Fair 2020 which will take place at Queen Sirikit Park between 4 and 8 December 2020. At the event, there will be an exhibition of the foundation's mission, along with booths to sell many products and souvenirs. The Prime Minister has presided over the 5/2020 meeting of the National Rice Policy Committee, where the increase of the 2020/2021 rice farmer income insurance budget was approved at 28,711.29 million baht. Adding to what had earlier been approved by the Cabinet on 3 November 2020 (18,096.06 million baht), the budget under the 2020/2021 rice farmer income insurance scheme, if approved by the Cabinet once again, will be 46,807.35 million baht. He also stated that research and development on rice must be systematically promoted, and the Government would strive to take good care of everyone, including the farmers, and would not leave anyone behind. This aims at providing convenience to repatriating Thai persons and foreign tourists who are allowed to enter Thailand. Embassies from a hundred nations are set to showcase their unique cultures through the utilization of Thai Silk, at the 10th Celebration of Silk, Thai Silk Road to The World event. The embassies have teamed up with 70 design institutions in Thailand, to utilize silk in realizing designs from the respective countries, to showcase cultural diversity through fashion. The designs will be introduced in a fashion show of outfits worn by foreign dignitaries, such as ambassadors and their spouses and high ranking government officials on 6 December 2020. The Government has made improving the business environment in Thailand a key policy by setting a goal to raise its ranking for "ease of doing business" to be among the top 20 countries in the world. The Government has prepared infrastructure for the past five years, including the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC) and transportation and technology infrastructure. Phuket Province has reopened its waters to international yachts, on the strict condition that passengers and crew members be allowed to disembark only after completing 14 days quarantine on board. Following a resolution from the Center for COVID-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) which allows foreign yachts to sail into the waters of Phuket and Chonburi; three Australian yachts have so far sailed into the waters of Phuket province. They are now docked close to Ko Nakha Noi for a compulsory 14-day quarantine before disembarkation. (30/11/2020)
The National Health Security Office (NHSO) has announced that people under the Gold Card health scheme will be allowed to change their hospital or clinic without having to wait 15 days from January onwards. According to NHSO Secretary-General Dr. Sakchai Kanjanawatana on Friday, the move would significantly improve access to medical services. The NHSO has also upgraded the registration system to prevent abnormal and repeat registrations, such as by using the same house registration. (29/11/2020)
