The Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT), in collaboration with the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), Sports Authority of Thailand (SAT), and Tak Province, invites mountain bikers to participate in the 14th Bhumibol Dam Invitation International Mountain Bike Championship 2015. On Friday 28 August 2015, there will be the Campaign Bike (Bike for Health), which will start from the front of the TAT Tak Office, taking the around-the-town route, at 15.00 hr. (19/08/2015)

The Thai government has approved a budget of 9,780,000 baht to help flood victims in Myanmar. Many kinds of assistance are to be provided to help affected people, including medicine and medical equipment. All assistance will be dispatched by land from the Maesod border pass in Tak province to Yangon via the Myawaddy border pass in Myanmar. (18/08/2015)
Guinness World Records has awarded Thailand the record for the organizing of a mass cycling event with the highest number of participants, 136,411 cyclists, in the Bike for Mom project, Sunday, 16 August. The most recent world record was held by Taipei, Taiwan, with 72,919 participants. (18/08/2015)
The Department of Disease Control has issued a series of warnings against the spread of dengue fever during the rainy season. Since the frequent rainfalls have started, the number of patients infected by the dengue virus has increased. This year the total number of infections is 42,900 cases and 35 have died. Five provinces, namely Rayong, Trad, Petchaburi, Tak, and Ang Thong, are the areas where the disease has been reported most. (11/08/2015)
The Thai government invites Thai people and tourists to join the celebration of Mothers Day with several activities to be held nationwide as a tribute to Her Majesty Queen Sirikit on her 83rd Birthday Anniversary. The annual, regal, candle-lit ceremony, to be presided over by Prime Minister Gen. Prayut Chan-o-cha, will take place at Sanam Luang in Bangkok on the evening of 12 August, and in other provinces the ceremony will take place at the provincial city halls or major venues. The nationwide Bike for Mom campaign, chaired by His Royal Highness Crown Prince Maha Vajiralongkorn, will also take place simultaneously on 16 August in every province, starting at 3 p.m. (11/08/2015)

The Cabinet approved a budget of 6,500 million baht to be used in sustainable agriculture projects, to be expanded in all 76 provinces within two months; more than 10 million people will benefit from the projects. In addition, the Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives will promote and support crop rotation in areas with less water to help reduce the cost of production. (11/08/2015)
The Protection of Children Born from Assisted Reproductive Technologies Act has been in force in Thailand since 30 July 2015.The new act prohibiting commercial surrogacy is to help married, childless couples attempting to have their own children by using reproductive procedures and technologies, and to prevent the abuse of such procedures such as buying and selling sperms cells and eggs, and renting of wombs.
