The Ministry of Social Development and Human Security has organized a training course by the name 1st from Street to Stars, to develop the potential of blind artists in Nakhon Phanom Province. The aim of the project, over a period of three years, is to help the blind artists become better known to the public. The artists who finish the course will receive awards and certificates. President of the Maldives Abdulla Yaameen Abdul Gayyoom paid a courtesy call on Prime Minister Gen. Prayut Chan-o-cha on 4 January 2016. The two leaders agreed to set up a business-matching group to seek investments and to stimulate the economy of each country. Meanwhile,the two sides expect to expand bilateral cooperation on fishing and fishing transformation industry, as well as tourism. (05/01/2016)
Prime Minister General Prayut Chan-o-cha has announced the motto for the 2016 National Childrens Day, which is Good children are diligent and eager to learn for a bright future. Every year, the National Childrens Day, or Wan Dek, is celebrated on the second Saturday of January, and this year it is Saturday 9 January 2016. (04/01/2016)
The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) is inviting the public to enjoy the New Year countdown 2016 on 31 December 2015 at the Temple of Dawn, or Wat Arun. Prime Minister General Prayut Chan-o-cha will preside over the event, which is held to bolster the good image of Thailand as a tourist destination to the world and also to commemorate His Majesty the Kings 88th birthday and Her Majesty the Queens 84th birthday anniversary. The Patrol and Special Operations Division of the Royal Thai Police is now launching the 191 Road Runner project, inviting a vehicle driver network including taxis, motorcycles, and three-wheelers to participate in training involving traffic regulations, watching over road incidents, observation of explosive types and hazardous substances, and methods and channels for giving information. His Majesty the King has granted permission for the relics of the late His Holiness Somdet Phra Nyanasamvara, the Supreme Patriarch, to be enshrined at Devasangaram Temple in Kanchanaburi province, and at Yannasangvararam Temple in Chonburi province on 29 December 2015 and 30 December 2015, respectively. The National Statistical Office has recently revealed its survey results, indicating that 99.5 percent of respondents expressed satisfaction with the Governments work, giving it an average score of 7.5 out of 10. Meanwhile, 99.3 percent said they had confidence in the Governments ability to address national issues. (28/12/2015)
The Thai police will strictly enforce traffic regulations against drunk driving or driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.Vehicles will be impounded, and drunk drivers will face serious charges. All of the seized vehicles will be released back to owners after the holiday. (28/12/2015)
The Department of Skill Development will give a New Years gift to all people under the project Warm Travel, Safety with Department of Skill Development. Institutes and Centers of Skill Development throughout the country will provide free automobile checking services to all drivers. This will run from today until 30 December 2015. (25/12/2015)
On the occasion of the commemoration of the 65th year of international relations between Thailand and Cambodia, H.E. Mr. Yim Chhayly, Deputy Prime Minister of Cambodia, paid a courtesy call on Anuphong Phaojinda, Minister of Interior. The Ministry of Public Health will set up a 24-hour Medical and Health Center for helping and following up medical information in order to help people travel with peace of mind during the New Year period. In order to reach next years rice production target, the Government will continue to promote Thai rice to global markets such as Iran, Oman, the Philippines, and Russia. Moreover, the Government will also support the cultivation of other types of value-added rice at the same time. (25/12/2015)
The Federation of Thai Industries (FTI) has announced that Thai industries sentiment index for November 2015 rose from 84.7 points in October to 85.8 points. FTI says the November figure marks the third consecutive months increase and the highest level in seven months. (24/12/2015)
The National Blood Center, Thai Red Cross Society, welcomes people to donate blood under the campaign Giving Blood before New Year; Be Lucky with Safety Tour from 21 to 30 December 2015 and 2 to 10 January 2016. The study Rice Balance Sheet: An estimation of use of rice in Thailand, by the Thailand Development Research Institute (TDRI), shows that Thailands consumption of rice has fallen. The movement of migrants is the main factor, since Thailand is moving toward the ASEAN Community. (23/12/2015)
The Ministry of Commerce has said that rice exports have a good outlook in the future because the global rice production is falling because of climate change, while demand will increase. According to the Thai Rice Policy and Management Committee, Thailand plans to export nine million tonnes of rice next year. (23/12/2015)
The public is invited to visit the exhibition on the Governments one-year performance at the front path of Government House on 23-25 December 2015. The exhibition comprises the Governments outstanding performances from each ministry, identification card service, medical check-up, plant distribution, etc. Those interested are welcome from 08.30 to 16.30 hr. Chiang Rai province will hold the 2015 Chiang Rai ASEAN Flower Festival 2015 Miracle Flowers of Lanna. The aim is to welcome people to see beautiful flowers and arrange to move forward to the ASEAN Economic Community: AEC. The Ministry of Education has said, on the topic of English skills for graduates, that the Office of the Higher Education Commission plans to draft a policy for students who graduate with a bachelors degree. They will be tested on English language for communication or have to know one or more ASEAN languages. They will have to study communication skills before their graduation. The results of their test will be put on their transcript, which will be used in applications for jobs. (22/12/2015)
Thailand will host Thailand Halal Assembly 2015. The Halal Digital Science Exhibition, which is the showcase of Halal Forensic Laboratory, and more than 200 halal food shops both domestic and abroad will be on show in the assembly.
