The Ministry of Public Health has launched the national development service plan from 2018 to 2022 in order to reduce patient deaths, reduce congestion, and reduce waiting time in hospitals. The plan aims to accelerate the implementation of health care by providing nationwide public access to quality services and having a sustainable health system. (08/05/2016)
The Ministry of Energy is promoting the use of energy from renewable sources in local communities. The project, named Community Esco Fund, for energy service company, is supported by the government budget, and will be an important impulse to drive the prototype community renewable energy scheme, for example, solar energy, wind power, and biogas. The initial target is set at 25 projects under the Esco fund. (08/05/2016)
The Business Development Department has allowed 36 new foreign investors, mostly from Japan, Singapore and China, to open businesses in Thailand. These foreign investments, combined, will raise a registered 898 million baht capital and lead to the employment of 698 Thai workers. (04/05/2016)
The Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives disclosed that this year the Royal Cultivating Ceremony will be held on 8 May 2016, to be followed by the Royal Ploughing Ceremony on 9 May. These royal ceremonies have been held annually in order to bring auspicious benefits to the nations agricultural production. (04/05/2016)
The President of the Infectious Diseases Association of Thailand, Faculty of Medicine, Chulalongkorn University, said that Thailand will host the ASEAN International Conference on Infectious Diseases in Children on 7-10 November 2016 at Queen Sirikit National Convention Center. Hong Kongs Health Agency (FEHD) is invited to see the processes involved for exported fruit and to give information to Thai entrepreneurs on 24-26 May 2016. Moreover, members will attend THAIFAX World of Food, which is scheduled on 25-29 May 2016 at the IMPACT Arena, Exhibition and Convention Center, Muang Thong Thani. (02/05/2016)

The Ministry of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) is preparing guidelines for promoting digital startup businesses. The Incubation Center, which will have public, private, and academic institutions involved in the operation, will be set up for this purpose. The center will perform a major role in the development and promotion of digital knowledge, as well as coordinating business funding and networking. (28/04/2016)
The Department of International Trade Promotion (DITP) will organize the 58th Bangkok Gems and Jewelry Fair on 7-11 September 2016. The event aims to attract manufacturers from around the world and to promote international recognition of Thailands gems and jewelry industry. (28/04/2016)
Mr. Don Pramudwinai, Minister of Foreign Affairs, will attend the 5th Meeting of Foreign Ministers for the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia (CICA) on 27-28 April 2016 in Beijing. With the main theme of Promoting Peace, Security, Stability and Sustainable Development in Asia through Dialogue among Civilizations, the meeting is expected to jointly adopt a declaration to reaffirm the strong political will and determination of member countries in promoting trust and confidence through cooperation in five main dimensions, namely military-political, economic, non-traditional threats, environmental, and human dimensions. Thailands capacity in auto parts production is more than 50 percent of ASEAN production. Last year, ASEAN produced 3.6 million automobiles. It is expected that Thailands capacity will be at 3 million in 2017, or about 85 percent of the market share. (27/04/2016)
The Health Service Support Department believes that Thailand is quite ready to become a medical hub in the Southeast Asian region. Currently, there are 53 hospitals and clinics that have been certified by the JCI international standard, the highest number in ASEAN, and 761 public hospitals certified by the HA standard. Thailands medical service is popular among foreigners, especially from the Middle East and Europe. (27/04/2016)
The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) has launched a new tourism campaign to invite Chinese tourists to Thailand. Mr. Mario Maurer, who is a Thai actor famous among the Chinese public, was invited to be a presenter for this campaign. Chinese tourists are a target market for Thai tourism, so TAT will organize various special activities in order to attract every group of tourist, including Chinese high-end tourists. (27/04/2016)
The Ministry of Labour announced that farmers and workers who are affected by the drought situation must be careful of fraudsters persuading jobseekers to work in other areas by promising higher income and better benefits, as the risk of becoming a victim remains high. The announcement also advises jobseekers to check for job vacancies at the Department of Employment (Hotline: 1694) before making any decision. (26/04/2016)
The Minister of Labour led a team of officials to visit Vietnam on 19-20 April 2016, as invited by Vietnams Minister of Labour, Invalids, and Social Affairs, to discuss official agendas related to labour and cooperation with the CLMV countries. The officials successfully discussed the establishment of cooperation and responsibilities in labour management. (26/04/2016)
The Ministry of Commerce said that ASEAN auto parts manufacturing will grow quickly, while the economic situation is stabilizing. Thailands target group is CLMV (Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, and Vietnam). In the first quarter of 2016, all of Vietnams auto parts were imported from Thailand. (25/04/2016)
The Ministry of Culture will organize the ASEAN Cultural Expo 2016 on 20-24 April 2016 to promote the variety of cultures among ASEAN member countries. The event will comprise nine activities at eight locations, such as "ASEAN Arts and Crafts," "ASEAN Kitchen," "ASEAN Nite" at Sanam Luang, "ASEAN Classic Movies" at SF Cinema Centralworld, and more.
