On the occasion of Children's Day, the Ministry of Science and Technology has organized the11th Science Road Fair under the theme "Little Scientists," highlighting His Majesty the late King's public development projects related to science. It aims to provide an opportunity for children to obtain science knowledge, together with learning about the late King's royal teachings. The event is taking place at the ministry's headquarters, from now until 14 January 2017, 9 AM - 5 PM. (14/01/2017)
The Software Industry Promotion Agency (Public Organization), or SIPA, will present the animated film "The Miracle of Mind City" - which was written by Somdet Phra Nyanasamvara, the Supreme Patriarch of Thailand. This animation aims to help children understand the basic principles of Buddhism more easily. The film features 29 episodes and will be screened on Children's Day, 14 January 2017, at Government House. (13/01/2017)
The Department of Land Transport has issued additional announcements about public transportation. The owners of shuttle vans are required to install GPS tracking before they renew their licenses, by 30 March 2017. The aim is to reassure passengers who use public transportation. Moreover, the owners of shuttle services will also have to use 20-seat microbuses instead of ordinary shuttle vans within six months. (13/01/2017)
The Ministry of Science and Technology has organized Khlong Phadung Krung Kasem Festival on 9-29 January 2017. The aim is to disseminate science and technology and innovation work by Thai people. More than 240 works and products of the organizations under the Ministry and other network organizations that are supported by the Ministry will be displayed, and sales and services will be available at this event. The Department of National Parks, Wildlife, and Plant Conservation has organized the Plants for Life project for children and youths in 150 national parks throughout the country from 14 January 2017 onwards. Persons arriving at the national parks have to inform their objectives to the officers, to explain whether they would like to learn about seedling nurseries or help with afforestation by using seedlings provided by the National Park, or simply to learn the process of plants; they may choose to join alone or as part of a group, as well. Bunditpatanasilpa Institute and the Ministry of Culture, with the cooperation of MCOT Public Company Limited and allied organizations, will organize Thai Dramatic Arts in the Reign of King Rama IX on 15 January 2017 at the Grand Hall, Thammasat University (Tha Prachan Campus). The show consists of nine sets of Thai dramatic arts, talks on the stage, and Thai performing arts. Every show relates the relationships of the Chakri Dynasty and Thai people, with expressions of loyalty to His Majesty the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej, who brought happiness to all Thai people throughout 70 years of His Majesty's reign on the throne. The event is the top annual meeting point for international experts in e-tourism, travel technology, and digital travel marketing and distribution wanting to meet with decision makers, entrepreneurs, and professionals from the travel and hospitality industry of Thailand. The Government will organize a charity event to seek donations to help flood-affected people in the southern provinces at Santi Maitree Building, the Government House on 15 January 2017 from 6:00 p.m. onwards. Anyone wanting to offer cash donations may transfer money to the Disaster Victims Assistance Fund, Krung Thai Bank, Government House Branch, Account Number 067-0-06895-0, or at the hotline 1111. The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) opened 12 centers to support efficient collection of security camera footage, improve case investigations, and provide accurate data to serve the public through increased connectivity with the BMA database, 50 district offices, and 88 metropolitan police offices. The Government will open Government House for Children's Day on 14 January 2017 from 08.00 to 15.00 hr. The event will include learning about His Majesty the late King Bhumibol's teachings, screenings of the animated film "The Story of Mahajanaka", simulation of a mangrove forest and hte Chaipattana water turbine, sitting in the PM's chair, visiting the cabinet meeting room, and many more activities, including dental check-ups and hair cutting service. Sunsern Kaewkumnerd, the government spokesperson, stated that the Government has opened a Flood Assistance Center at Government House to seek donations to help flood-affected people in 12 southern provinces. The Ministry of Commerce disclosed that the local e-commerce market will continue growing between 25 and 30% in 2017, driven mainly by the enlargement of social commerce and the growing variety of product choices, as well as multiple logistics services. Prompt Pay is another driver, as it will encourage consumers to pay online rather than paying cash on delivery. (12/01/2017)

The Rajaprajanugroh Foundation has dispatched 10,000 royal relief packages for victims currently affected by flooding in southern Thailand.At the Royal Thai Police Aviation Division, Donmuang, Pol.Maj.Gen. Arkgrid Thareechat, the secretary of the Rajaprajanugroh Foundation dispatched 10,000 royal relief packages with a picture of His Majesty the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej to the Royal Thai Police Headquarters for transporting. The relief packages, weighting over four tons will be distributed to flooding victims.Recently, Prachuap Khiri Khan Province was hit by heavy rain again. It washed out roads and split them. However, the relief packages and consumer goods were sent to Surat Thani Airport on 10 January for distribution to nearby places. (11/01/2017)

The Ministry of Transport is going to put more effort into road safety measures after the deadly passenger van crash on 2 January 2017. The Ministry announced that GPS tracking systems will be installed in all public vans by 31 March 2017 in order to boost passenger confidence. Acting Director-General of the Government Public Relations Department Lt. Gen. Sansern Kaewkamnerd said that the Department was launching a program to help victims of the flooding in the South. All PRD media outlets across the country have joined this live program, to be broadcast daily from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. and from 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. (10/01/2017)
The Faculty of Agriculture, Khon Kaen University, is jointly working with the Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives and Khon Kaen province to hold the Northeast Agricultural Fair 2017 from 20 to 29 January 2017 at the Agricultural Technology Park, Khon Kaen University, under the slogan "Isan Agriculture Knowledge Carrying on the Royal Philosophy." The objective of holding the exhibition is to honor His Majesty the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej for his work in developing Thailand's agriculture. Thailand Post has started distribution of the postcards affixed with stamps produced in remembrance of His Majesty the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej to over 7 million people who registered last November. The late King's commemorative postcards will arrive at all addresses by 20 January 2017. According to the Federation of Thai Industries, three groups of Thai SME businesses which are herbs, cosmetics, and food, including seasoning products have high potential for business in ASEAN countries. They increase exports to neighboring countries. The Government should support bank credit and deep information, as well as providing advisors to make it possible for SMEs to invest in ASEAN countries. (10/01/2017)
To express its condolences for the passing of His Majesty the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej, Central Embassy is organizing the exhibition King of Our Hearts. The content of this exhibition is divided into four parts. The first part displays King Bhumibols biography. The second is his diplomatic relations with international countries. The third is his musical compositions and the Happy New Year cards he designed (Blessing of Bhumibol), and the last part consists of 99 photographs of the King. The exhibition runs until 31 January 2017 at Event Space, G floor, Central Embassy Department Store. (10/01/2017)
