The Department of Agriculture Extension, Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives, is organizing the Young Smart Farmer program. Young farmers will have an opportunity to exchange knowledge with other farmers, through a study tour, workshop, media, and the Internet. After the program, they will be able to use high technology and innovation in the field, which are the platforms of the new agriculture technology. To commemorate the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej, the Arts Activity Department, Bangkok Art and Culture Center, will organize a performance His Majestys compositions, in Tribute to His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej. The performers are students and lecturers from five universities: the Chulalongkorn University Clarinet Ensemble; the Kasetsart Wind Symphony Orchestra, Department of Music, Faculty of Humanities, Kasetsart University; the Rangsit University Jazz Orchestra, Conservatory of Music, Rangsit University; Silpa-sien, Faculty of Music, Silpakorn University; and Pomelo Town, College of Music, Mahidol University. The Government has set the National Policy and Strategy on Reproductive Health (2017-2022) to urge Thai people to have two healthy babies per family. They will give family planning advice and distribute vitamins and folic acid, a form of vitamin B, to couples who register their marriages on Valentine's Day. Owing to a decreasing fertility rate in Thailand, it has been predicted that Thailand will have zero fertility rate in the next 10 years. (14/02/2017)

The Thailand Creative & Design Center (TCDC), in cooperation with the Thai Printing Association, will produce a series of postcards, using a special graphic design technique, to honor His Majesty the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej. The postcards will be displayed to the public at the "Postcard Khong Por" exhibition. The Ministry of Digital Economy and Society, in cooperation with the Industrial Estate Authority of Thailand, plans to develop the Digital Innovation Park in Sri Racha, Chonburi province, in order to promote 10 industrial clusters, as well as supporting the Governments Thailand 4.0 policy. A feasibility study of the project will be concluded next month and the Ministry will assign CAT Telecom to launch road shows inviting international technology companies to invest in the park this year. The appointment ceremony of 20th Supreme Patriarch of Thailand will be held on 12 February 2017 at Wat Phra Kaeo. In this ceremony, the Bureau of Royal Scribes and Royal Decorations will announce the new title of Somdet Phra Maha Muniwong. His official name will be Somdet Phra Ariyawongsakhatayan, with his ceremonial role being Sakonlamahasangkhaparinayok, "Head of All Members of the Sangha." (11/02/2017)
The Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation will host the second ASEAN Regional Conference on School Safety on 14-15 February 2017 at the Grand Center Point Hotel, Bangkok. The conference aims to consider and exchange international platforms on disaster prevention and mitigation at schools, in accordance with the ASEAN Common Framework for Comprehensive School Safety (ACFCSS), which covers three main pillars, including ensuring safe school buildings and facilities, managing disaster risk reduction at schools, and organizing classes on disaster risk reduction, response, adjustment, and recovery. The Ministry of Public Health hosted an international conference on global health security on 8-10 February 2017 with the objective to improve laboratories for human and animal health in preparation to cope with the eventuality of epidemics. Specialists from 30 countries, along with representatives of public health organizations, participated in the conference to exchange experiences and knowledge on issues involving epidemics and the improvement of laboratories. The Minister of Digital Economy and Society disclosed that the ministry will assign three major public companies, namely TOT, CAT Telecom, and Thailand Post, to jointly install a high-speed Internet broadband system throughout the country within two years. TOT is to connect a civil-state Internet service in all 24,700 villages, while CAT Telecom will develop its submarine cable system to connect Thailand with other parts of the world. Sukhothai welcomes the new tourist attraction, "Tung Por Tuang Baan Mon Keeree" (The sunn hemp field), in Muang district. Several farmers in Sukhothai have changed 1,200 rai of rice growing areas into sunn hemp fields to recondition the soil's quality. The Department of Children and Youth, Ministry of Social Development and Human Security, is launching a campaign to encourage youngsters to do good deeds as a tribute to His Majesty the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej. Over 8,000 children have been encouraged to visit temples, listen to sermons, and join in community activities.
