Ministry of Commerce, will develop more knowledge about online market channels for entrepreneurs in the area. They will learn the significance of international standards and the QR code, which is used in exports. The details of the product will link to websites or online shops easily and reach the target consumers more efficiently. The Department of Alternative Energy Development and Efficiency disclosed that 450 buildings have participated in the energy conservation program under ministerial regulations on the Building Energy Code (BEC). The department has cooperated with the Department of Public Works and Town and Country Planning and the Ministry of Interior to enforce BEC regulations in nine types of buildings, namely hospitals, educational institutes, offices, condominiums, auditoriums, theaters, hotels, service buildings, and shopping centers or department stores. This campaign could reduce electricity usage by 225 million units and eliminate 13,000 tons of carbon dioxide emissions. (18/04/2017)
The Ministry of Defense revealed that the number of deaths from road accidents during the Songkran Festival is about 20% less than the number last year, thanks to the cooperation of all sectors. Nong Nooch Tropical Botanical Garden, which has been assigned by the Fine Arts Department to design the floral decorations around the Royal Crematorium and component structures for the Royal Cremation Ceremony for His Majesty the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej, has prepared auspicious plants related to the Sufficiency Economy Theory and the royally initiated projects, which include rice farming and the Chaipattana Aerator. The Government aims to push Phuket as a Smart City in investment and plans to make digital industry drive the Economic 4.0 policy. The Department of Cultural Promotion, has integrated the efforts of 14 organizations such as the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration, Department of Transport, Royal Irrigation Department, Royal Thai Police Headquarters, and Tourism Authority of Thailand to organize the Songkran Festival under the theme of Thai-Style Songkran: Conserve Precious Water, and Save Every Life from 13 to 17 April 2017 in both the central and provincial areas. The Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives will use the T&V System (Training and Visit System) in all agricultural areas throughout the country. This system can rapidly improve the efficiency of solving agricultural problems. Provincial agriculture officers will set the training system and study visits, and transfer new agricultural technology knowledge; the information is updated daily. The Ministry of Social Development and Human Security has created a brand of products on the theme of All Products, One Brand under the name of Tor Fang by Social Development and Human Security to support the target group of women, disabled, and homeless people, and the ones who survived human trafficking. This potentiality development will cover all services of treatment, rehabilitation, education, and skill training, which will be used as the tools for a more sustainable life in the future. Songkhla will hold the Songkran Festival and "Hat Yai Midnight Songkran" under the concept "Songkran in Thai style, no alcohol, being safe, and using less water" on 11-13 April 2017 at Muang district. The event will include a Miss Songkran pageant, Miss Tourism pageant, Midnight Songkran carnival, Muay Talay (Sea Boxing), and other shows from various artists. The festival is been expected to attract over 100,000 travelers, both Thai and foreign, to Songkhla. (11/04/2017)
The Royal Thai Police have launched the campaign "Pracharat Ruam Jai -- Taking Care of Citizen's Homes" during the Songkran Festival. This project, which is similar to the "Entrust Your Home to the Police" campaign, aims to protect people's homes during every festival each year. The Digital Economy Promotion Agency, in cooperation with SME Development Bank, has launched the SMART SMEs Single Account 4.0 campaign as a source of funds for SME businesses in order to support local entrepreneurs and stimulate the countrys investment and economy. The program aims to seek and promote access to funding for entrepreneurs who apply technology to their business management and for software and digital content entrepreneurs, in order to reinforce their business and develop new innovations and services for increased economic value for the country. His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn Bodindradebayavarangkun has graciously bestowed the new Constitution to the Thai people. As a result, the present Cabinet, as well as the National Council for Peace and Order and the National Legislative Assembly, will continue to function until the general elections are held. Within the next eight months, there will be the drafting of 10 organic laws by the Constitution Drafting Committee (CDC). Each organic law bill will then be submitted to the National Legislative Assembly for consideration, which shall be completed within two months. If there are any amendments, it will take another month for revision. The organic law bills will then be presented to His Majesty the King within 90 days. Once the first four organic laws, prerequisites for the general elections, have been promulgated, the general elections will then be in progress. (07/04/2017)
The Department of Highways has begun a road safety campaign to reduce fatalities on Thailand's roads during the Songkran holiday. Several safety measures and directives have been launched, including the improvement of road surfaces, the repair of street and traffic lights, and a 24-hour online traffic report via mobile applications named Thailand Highway Traffic and M Traffic. In addition, the department has joined the Highway Police to set up 394 service points across the country in the hope of reducing the number of road fatalities this year by at least 5%. (07/04/2017)
