The Ministry of Finance, in cooperation with the Ministry of Social Development and Human Security, have launched the new application entitled Home for All in order to survey the housing demand in the group of Thai people with low incomes. The government expects this survey to create a database to plan the development of new housing in order to meet the needs of the people. The Government is also preparing a low-interest home loan campaign for those who participated in the survey. The application can be downloaded through the App Store, Play Store and www.ghbank.or.th. Chaiyaphum province is ready to welcome all visitors to appreciate the exceptional beauty and natural wonder of "Siam tulips" in full bloom. The Dok Krachiao Festival 2017 will be held for four months, from 1 June to 30 September. The official opening of the festival is scheduled for 17 June at Pa Hin Ngam National Park in Thep Sathit district. (18/05/2017)
The Ministry of Commerce has launched the "Nu Nid Tid Dao" project for qualifying the food shops which sell quality ready-to-eat food at less than 35 baht a dish. The food shops that can qualify as "Nu Nid Tid Dao" have been strictly evaluated in terms of taste, hygiene, and facilities. In the first phase of the project, there are 387 "Nu Nid Tid Dao" shops across the country. (18/05/2017)
The Cabinet approved the first set of housing projects, which are part of the 10-year Strategic Plan for Long-Term Residential Development (2016-2025). This project, which includes 6,129 residential units, will enable low- and middle-income families to have their own standard residence. So far, there are 4 million families in need of houses. The project is expected to increase the number of residences to 1.7 million families by the end. (18/05/2017)
The Immigration Bureau has launched the One Stop Service Center at Blueport Hua Hin shopping center featuring a QR Code system, which allows visitors to check their queue position and the remaining estimated waiting time by themselves using their smartphone. The service aims to provide more convenience, faster service, and better transparency. The center is now providing services for foreigners requesting the short-term visa extension, re-entry permit, 90-day notification, and resident notification. (17/05/2017)
The Government disclosed that the MICE (meetings, incentives, conferences, and exhibitions) industry is one of the key sectors that Thailand intends to develop in order to stimulate quality visitors from both within the country and abroad. The Government expects the country to attract more than 1.3 million MICE travelers and generate nearly USD 4 billion in revenue by 2022. (17/05/2017)

The Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives will organize the Chatuchak Saphan Pla Market event between 22 and 26 May 2017 to serve the Government's sustainable agriculture policy and to educate the public about illegal fishing and human trafficking. At the event, people can see an exhibition and buy farm products and fresh aquatic products. It will take place at Saphan Pla Fish Market, Charoen Krung Road. (16/05/2017)
Owing to the monsoon season, Similan islands, Phang Nga province, will be closed for five months, starting from 16 May, to avoid the dangers from strong wind and raging sea, and also to aid the recovery of the environment. Other marine national parks that will be closed are Surin islands, Lanta islands (Koh Rok and Koh Ha), Hat Chao Mai National Park, and Tarutao National Park (only at Koh Adang, Koh Rawi, and Koh Lipe). The fair "OTOP Mid-Year 2017: Best Local to Global" will be held on 18-25 May 2017 at Challenger Hall 1-3, Impact, Muang Thong Thani. The fair will provide channels for OTOP products and support their development for current market trends, in accordance with Thailand 4.0. Apart from featuring more than 10,000 goods, the fair also presents an exhibition on His Majesty the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej's Sufficiency Economy Philosophy for Sustainable Development. The Royal Thai Army Ordnance Department has been assigned to build the Royal Artillery Carriage, which has the same design as the carriage used in the cremation of His Majesty King Ananda Mahidol, or King Rama VIII, for the cremation of His Majesty the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej. The training at the 11th Infantry Regiment of the King's Bodyguard will be on 21 and 28 September 2017. The training at the location of the cremation will take place on 7 and 12 October 2017 and the rehearsal on 21 October 2017. (15/05/2017)
The Ministry of Public Health warns people to be careful of having uncleaned or undercooked food, especially food containing chicken and egg that might have Salmonella bacteria which caused foodborne illness. It has been reported that there are 337,003 diarrhea patients and 38,893 food poisoning patients since January to May 2017. (15/05/2017)
The Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment has launched the new application named Smart National Park 4.0 in order to preserve the countrys natural resources. The program can be used to monitor and analyze problems in the real time, as they happen in the national parks nationwide. The Ministry of Digital Economy and Society disclosed that the ministry is going to develop three provinces Rayong, Chon Buri, and Chachoengsao into smart areas in the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC). The policy aims to promote investment in new S-curve industries in the EEC, which consist of robotics, aviation, digital business, medical hub, and biofuels. (13/05/2017)

The ASEAN-Korea Centre has designated May and June as the ASEAN Month in celebration of the 50th Anniversary of ASEAN and ASEAN-ROK Cultural Exchange Year. Under the slogan of Hello ASEAN@50, the ASEAN Month will be launched on 11 May 2017 at the ASEAN-Korea Centre in Seoul. The ASEAN Month would contribute to a better understanding of ASEAN as well as the importance of ASEAN-Korea relations. The Department of Land Transport is strictly monitoring the safety and service of school buses in preparing for the opening of a new school semester. School buses must meet specific standards and regulations, along with being registered and licensed. In addition, if people see a school bus with unsafe driving behavior, they may inform officials by calling 1584, 24 hours a day. (11/05/2017)

The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) will develop a new tourism campaign to attract Chinese couples to have their wedding in Thailand. As around 30-40% of the total Chinese population is expected to wed in the next three years, and to have their weddings in other countries, the TAT and the Ministry of Tourism and Sports will push Thailand forward to be the hub of wedding destinations. The Ministry of Interior is coordinating with all provinces to prepare for the cremation ceremony of His Majesty the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej. A total of 878 sites across the country have been prepared by the provinces for ceremonies linked to the cremation. In addition, the Government invites people to participate in making artificial sandalwood flowers with their province's own symbolic flowers. (11/05/2017)
The Ministry of Digital Economy and Society has moved forward with its Digital Park Thailand project, which will be located on a 700-rai plot of land in Sri Racha district of Chonburi province, by drafting a list of the types of businesses. The companies that set up at the park will have their taxes waived for eight years and receive a 50 percent discount for the following five years. It is expected to attract many foreign investors. The Ministry of Social Development and Human Security will organize Thailands first concert performed by disabled musicians, entitled S2S: Light of Love, featuring royal compositions.
