The Government is pushing forward the development of the "Doing Business" system and plans to establish a central data center for contacting with the government sector. The Doing Business system is a way of enforcing business laws that will make doing business easier for the private sector and will attract more foreign investors to Thailand. The Ministry of Industry is preparing for the implementation of its SME loan program on 24 May 2017. The program will be launched in Songkhla Province, extending to the provincial cluster of Narathiwat, Pattani, Yala and Satun. At the event, the Prime Minister will hand out 30 loans to approved candidates. It is expected that up to 12 billion baht in loans will be approved by the end of June. The ministry will also set up the programs operation centers to assist SMEs in doing business throughout all phases, such as bookkeeping, digital marketing, and product development. (23/05/2017)

This place will be the fresh Fishing Market Center, with no fish from illegal Unreported and Unregulated Fishing (IUU). Members of the public can get good-quality and standard seafood at a reasonable price. Thai Airways International Public Co., Ltd., passed inspection and has been recertified to the international safety standards of ICAO as the new aviation operator. Thai Airways is the third of Thailands international airlines to receive its Air Operator Certificate (AOC) certification as part of the Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand (CAAT)s recertification program, in partnership with CAA International (CAAi), the advisory arm of the UK Civil Aviation Authority (UK CAA). The Department of Disease Control warns people to beware of the "box jellyfish" if they are swimming in the sea when it is raining or after a rain. It is one of the most venomous marine animals. It has been reported that more than 1,000 people have been poisoned by box jellyfish; 18 people were in critical condition and eight people died. Anyone who has been poisoned by venomous jellyfish should stay still, wash the wound with vinegar for at least 30 seconds, and call an ambulance at 1669. The injured person is advised not to rub the wound or pour fresh water on it. If a person has passed out and has no pulse, CPR should be performed immediately. (23/05/2017)
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that the ASEM Symposium on Inter-Regional Partnership for Sustainable Development will be held on 25-26 May 2017, in Bangkok. The meeting aims to promote the sharing of experiences, best practices, and expertise between ASEM partners with regard to policy, practices, and method for implementation of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and to provide a platform for networking and forging partnerships between ASEM partners for future collaboration in the implementation of the SDGs through various approaches. The Minister of Tourism and Sports has presided over the opening ceremony of the 118th Anniversary Benjama Half-Marathon race at Benjamarachutit School, Nakhon Sri Thammarat, a running event participated in by some 4,000 people, as well as a 10-kilometer marathon. The Ministry of Commerce plans to register around 500 star-rated Noo Nit food shops this year. "Noo Nit Pa Chim" is a collaboration project, between the government, private, and civil sectors that aims to help lower consumers expenses. So far, 387 out of 2,000 short-listed Noo Nit food shops have been rewarded star certificates for their outstanding ability to offer quality ready-to-eat meals with the maximum price of 35 baht per dish. The Ministry of Commerce has organized the Thai Jasmine Rice contest to enhance the value of Thai jasmine rice in the market. The Commerce Minister said that the rice price this year is likely to improve, and the ministry will cooperate with the Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives to find ways to reduce costs and help Thai farmers to increase their revenue. Prime Minister Gen Prayut Chan-o-cha has removed the board of the Farmer's Reconstruction and Development Fund following an unresolved issue related to farmers debts. The board will be replaced by a special committee, consisting of government officials from the Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives, the Ministry of Interior, the Ministry of Justice and the Ministry of Finance. The new committee is expected to solve debt issues and improve the management of the fund within 180 days. (19/05/2017)

Su Suek Road, in Prachuap Khiri Khan province, has been chosen by the Department of Cultural Promotion to be one of eleven cultural walking streets. The Ministry of Transport is preparing to develop Thai taxi services in order to increase standard service and credibility, as well as to reduce crime, through the project named Taxi OK. The ministry will require all taxis to install GPS tracking, CCTV, and alarm emergency buttons, which will be linked to the taxi management center. Apart from the technology requirement, the ministry will issue the regulation to improve driver behavior. This project is expected to be completed by the end of this year. (19/05/2017)
