Even there is no report of a new case in Bangkok today, many people are concerned about the cluster in Chulalongkorn University. The index case had close contact with an infected food delivery driver. This cluster has in total 22 cases from the area. DDC found the virus on a finger scanning machine, which might spread of the virus among the staff. According to news reported by VNOVA International Co., Ltd., the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) of Thailand rejected the registration of the Sinopharm COVID-19 vaccine, and the registration took a long time to process, which made Thai people lose the opportunity to access the COVID-19 vaccine. However, the FDA has clarified that the statement is not true. FDA has never rejected the registration, and it also added an "express lane" to accelerate the registration process. If all documents are completed, the process should finish within 30 days. Meanwhile, the company contacted the FDA twice. The first time was 11 January 2021 to ask for information for Sinopharm COVID-19 vaccine registration, and the FDA gave details about documents and the timing of the process. The second time was 8 February 2021, when an officer from the company visited the FDA office to consult about the details for submitting the documents for Sinopharm, but had not yet submitted any documents. The company said that it would submit the registration documents between February and April 2021. FDA reaffirms to the public that it prioritizes the registration for COVID-19 vaccine from any company without any hindrance. It is also willing to give advice to facilitate vaccine registration. Thailand Post Distribution Co., Ltd., has joined with the Prompt Song application to buy supplies at a market for restaurants via the online system, which is another option for vendors during the COVID-19 situation. The delivery service through online ordering is another service operated by Thailand Post via the e-Marketplace Platform in the form of the Prompt Song app. Thailand Post will pick up products from the manufacturer or distributor and store them at a temperature-controlled warehouse. The area is organized by a modern system. The vehicle tracking system is managed using a bar code to ensure that the products are delivered to the services users on time. The Prime Minister has ordered officials to take tough action in solving the countrys rubbish problem. According to the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), 139 of 155 national parks nationwide are now reopened to visitors, while 16 parks remain closed until further notice. This is in line with the latest COVID-19 control measures in the respective provinces, following the Royal Thai Governments announcement on easing of the COVID-19 control measures in most areas nationwide as of 1 February 2021. Deputy Prime Minister Gen. Prawit Wongsuwan, on behalf of the president of the National Informal Workers Management Committee and the National Workforce Development and Skills Training Committee, has requested the Ministry of Labor to promote employment and skills development among informal workers, who are key contributors to the economy, despite being paid less than most other workers and being uninsured. The latest information on the number of workers in the country reveals that 20.4 million out of the total 37.9 million employed persons are non-system workers who receive less protection and welfare in terms of health and security than in-system workers, with many of them underpaid and not insured with Social Security. The committees have agreed to assign the Ministry of Labor and related agencies to start the process of aid campaigns and compensation for non- system workers affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, in accordance with the demands received. The Food and Drug Administration revealed that Johnson & Johnson's COVID-19 vaccine is requesting emergency use authorization in Thailand. So far, there are three companies that have requested the authorization: (1) AstraZeneca, which is already approved; (2) Sinovac, which is in the process of requesting; and (3) Johnson & Johnson, which is in the process of requesting. His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn Phra Vajiraklaochaoyuhua and Her Majesty Queen Suthida Bajrasudhabimalalakshana graciously granted seven biosafety mobile COVID-19 testing units, for collecting samples, to the Ministry of Public Health on 2 February 2021. The testing units are helping the authorities do active finding test and find the infected persons faster. These mobile units have played a vital role in active case finding in Samut Sakhonand other provinces to tackle the new wave of COVID-19. The Center for COVID-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) revealed on 4 February 2021 that the Ministry of Public Health is now aiming to do more active case finding in Bangkok, especially the districts that are near Samut Sakhon and those that have many factories, after they have done the tests in Samut Sakhon and successfully controlled the spread of COVID-19 in the province.
