Tarutao Islands National Park has been declared as an area free of plastic and styrofoam containers for current maritime tourism season. The national park office is also enhancing safety measures for visitors, by having officials undergo rescue and lifesaving workshops in order to keep them prepared for any unforeseen incident. The Ministry of Finance revealed that the Thailand Future Fund (TFF) is scheduled to trade in the Stock Exchange of Thailand on 31 October 2018. The fund has already raised 45.7 billion baht from the market. The fund serves as a favorable alternative for raising capital to fund the development of Thailands infrastructure in the future. The Social Security Office has announced that the new Compensation Act will be in effect from 9 December 2018, after being proclaimed on 11 October 2018. The new law will enhance the benefits of employees and employers. For instance, employees' compensation rates will be raised to 70% of their current salaries; compensation for people who become disabled because of their job will be equivalent to at least 70 percent of their monthly salary multiplied by at least 15 years, and the rate will be multiplied by 10 years in the event of death, and other benefits. Banphaeng Technical College in Nakhon Phanom province has invented a turn signal light for cyclists to help prevent road accidents. The project is aimed at creating new inventions in conjunction with the Wheel Lover Centers use of bicycles throughout Thailand. The new invention will effectively facilitate and ensure the safety of cyclists. (30/10/2018)
The Ministry of Commerce stated that Thailands exports are expected to grow 8 percent in 2019, as global demand remains strong. This reflects the efforts of the Government to reform the Thai economy and bring about better standards in the industrial sector, as well as a better standard of living for the entire population. The Ministry of Culture is planning to upgrade Tham Luang - Khun Nam Nang Non National Park, Chiang Rai province, into a functional tourist attraction. A museum has been planned in the national park to remember the historical rescue event that took place there only last July. (29/10/2018)
The Ministry of Digital Economy and Society disclosed that all villages will have high-speed broadband internet access by the end of 2019. After setting up internet access for all, the ministry will devote its attention to the Thailand Big Data project. In the first phase, the Government will collate data from all ministries into a centralized big data management system, which will have three initial tasks: checking lists of their data sets, identifying data sets, and defining focal points of usage for public benefit. The Ministry of Industry revealed that the Government is supporting the development of the bio-industry, as sugar cane, palm oil, and cassava can be used for various commercial purposes. A bio-technology support center will be set up in Chonburi province, where a team of scientists will develop and improve bio-products for industrial operators. The ministry is determined to turn Thailand into a bio-hub by 2027. (27/10/2018)

The Princesss Cup Thailand had been held five times, in 2001, 2002, 2004, 2016, and 2017. This year's event will be held at the Royal Stable Unit, Sanam Pao, in Bangkok, from 20 to 25 November 2018. There are five competition categories: dressage, jumping, eventing, best farrier, and best groom. Other activities will also be held alongside with the equestrian competitions. They include dog contests, a run with dogs, a flea market and food truck, and a painting contest of acrylic horse models. The general public is invited to attend the Princesss Cup Thailand 2018 free of charge, from 20 to 25 November. (26/10/2018)
The Department of Foreign Trade has revealed that the value of Jasmine rice has risen significantly to 18,000 baht per ton. The overall quantity of rice exports has increased to 8.9 million tons, which is worth 4.6 billion USD. Major buyers are from Benin, Indonesia, the Philippines, China, and South Africa. (26/10/2018)
The State Railway of Thailand (SRT) and the designer of the high-speed rail route have invited stakeholders in Mueang district and Sikhio district of Nakhon Ratchasima province to discuss the rail route in public hearings. The SRT has proposed a plan to construct a dual- track rail route through the province's center, with part of it to go through a tunnel. However, most of the nearly 500 participants rejected the idea and suggested an elevated system, as in Khon Kaen province. The SRT agreed to take the new proposal for further discussion and consideration. (25/10/2018)

The Ministry of Interior has implemented the Thai Niyom Yang Yuen project to lift Thai peoples living standards, especially those of the poor and low-income earners, who make up the majority of the population. There are many activities under the project, including the Governments debt clinic campaign, in which people with informal debts can enroll and receive financial advice. The Ministry of Digital Economy and Society disclosed that the CEBIT ASEAN Thailand 2018 on 19-20 October 2018 has successfully concluded, encouraging the public to embrace the 4.0 era through various digital technologies. The event also served as a platform where entrepreneurs were able to exchange ideas and engage in business matchmaking. The ministry has initiated several projects that encourage the use of technology to boost the economy and improve society, which include the projects on Pracharat Internet, underwater cable, smart city, and cybersecurity. The general public is invited to join Bangkok Biennale 2018 around the city. The event has transformed the capital of Thailand into a huge international art exhibition, which contains over 200 art works from more than 70 artists around the world. The works will be displayed at 20 attractions around Bangkok, such as Siam Paragon, the Mandarin Oriental Hotel, Wat Pho, the East Asiatic Building, and Wat Prayoon. The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has advised mothers to receive or donate breast milk through standard breast milk banks, as bio-materials such as blood and breast milk can transmit germs and diseases and pose many potential health risks. Donated milk at any breast milk bank will be tested, disinfected, closely supervised, and pasteurized according to medical standards. So far, there are two breast milk banks in Thailand at Siriraj and Ramathibodi hospitals, operated by the Department of Pediatrics. (19/10/2018)
The Ministry of Energy has launched a new service called Energy Data Visualization (EDV), which provides analyses and comparisons of retail prices of oil in Thailand and the capitals of 10 ASEAN countries. The EDV is a new channel through which anyone can gain in-depth information on energy, including oil and electricity prices, in other countries and is now available at www2.eppo.go.th/EDV. The Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives disclosed that the ministry is enlisting farmers for its 2019 Young Smart Farmer program to provide training on the use of technology in order to enhance production efficiency and quality. The Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives aims to develop the use of Big Data in the agricultural sector to keep up with the digital era. The Big Data application will create digital data files of farmers and their plantations, and the ministry's personnel may use mobile devices to collect and record data about farmers, farmland, plants, and crops grown. With the use of Global Positioning System (GPS), the field officers can include geographical data that ensures all fields are accounted for. The data will transfer from a digital device to a permanent database called Farmer One. (17/10/2018)
The Ministry of Commerce revealed that the ministry has started to conduct the feasibility studies on the use of Blockchain technology in copyright, agriculture, and trade finance.
