The Government Spokesman Bureau revealed that Prime Minister General Prayut Chan-o-cha and other members of the Cabinet were scheduled to visit Loei and Phetchabun provinces on 17-18 September 2018 for an inspection and a cabinet retreat. The Cabinet will meet heads of government agencies, civil servants, community leaders, and members of the public, as well as overseeing the actual input on the governments work to meet the general publics needs. This years seventh cabinet retreat will be held on 18 September 2018 in Phetchabun. (14/09/2018)

According to the Ministry of Commerce, the Cabinet has approved an increase in the incentive for farmers to store paddy rice in an effort to slow down the sale of this years harvest. Under the reworked scheme, participating farmers will receive 1,000 baht, instead of 500 baht for each ton of paddy kept with associated co-operatives, which will be paid 500 baht, instead of 1,000 baht per ton. The Ministry of Industry is pushing agricultural processing production in order to help fruit growers and industrial entrepreneurs by signing an MOU for the purchase of nearly 50,000 tons of durian from growers in southern provinces. It is worth more than 4,000 million baht. This is one of the methods to create sustainable income for communities. (12/09/2018)
Digital Thailand Big Bang 2018 will be divided into three zones. There will be 3D visualizations in the form of Intelligent City and Thailand Digital Park. This area is the zone of new technology that can be adapted to develop sustainable cities. The next area is for the education successes that use Thai culture to promote the countrys goodwill on the global stage. The last area displays Thailands skill in digital innovation, such as 3D facial recognition and the technology developments that will lead to the start-ups of 2020. (12/09/2018)
The Ministry of Labor has organized Anti-Corruption Day 2018 under the theme of peoples awareness and fighting to end all kinds of corruption. The objective is to encourage Thai people all around the country to be active citizens who will not ignore corruption but will wake up to fight every form of corruption. The Ministry of Digital Economy and Society will host Digital Thailand Big Bang 2018, the Grand Digital Event of Southeast Asia. This event will bring together the power of technology at the national and regional level, from both government organizations and the private sector. It aims to alert the public about the move forward to Successful Innovation Change and Thailand 4.0. This big data festival is on 19-23 September 2018 at Challenger Hall 1-3, IMPACT, Muang Thong Thani. (12/09/2018)
The Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives plans to discourage farmers from chemical-dependent agriculture in order to reduce the impact of chemical residue on the environment and to promote organic farming between 2018 and 2021. This implementation will be strictly enforced in areas near national parks. (12/09/2018)

The Friedrich Naumann Foundation, with cooperation of EURAXESS, KX MADE, King Mongkuts University of Technology Thonburi, Chulalongkorn University, and the German-Thai Chamber of Commerce, will organize The Falling Walls Lab Thailand. They will present 25 outstanding ideas/projects aiming to breakdown the walls of various issues, including education, Internet of things, barriers in medical device development, etc. This event is on 16th September 2018 at 2:00 pm. 6:00 pm. on the 20th floor, Chamchuri 10 Building, Chulalongkorn University. The Government Spokesman, Lt. Gen. Sansern Kaewkamnerd, disclosed that the Government is placing high priority on the labor shortage in the fishery industry. The Government is seeking to employ immigrant workers to help fill the vacancies by extending the work permits for existing workers, importing more workers from neighboring countries, and allowing other workers to transfer to fisheries. The Ministry of Public Health revealed that, since 2017, the ministry has been implementing the Universal Coverage for Emergency Patients (UCEP) policy. Emergency patients can go to any private hospital for 72 hours for free emergency treatment. Thailand has been voted third place for best country for people by the readers of Conde Nast Traveler magazine. Samui island in Surat Thani also came in ninth place for the best island in the world. In recognition of this achievement, the Government aims to adjust the ministerial rules and regulations to focus on community tourism, wealth distribution, and the enhancement of the grassroots economy. The Ministry of Public Health has warned cat owners to beware of ringworm infection from close contact with infected cats or from their cats' bedding. The infection will present with red patches on affected areas of the skin and will spread to other parts of the body. Cat owners have been urged to take their cats to undergo a health checkup and to clean their cats' bedding. (10/09/2018)
The Special Economic Zones development policy committee has given permission to two companies, the names of which have yet to be revealed, to invest in Tak and Kanchanaburi provinces. Marketing and public relations plans for assisting all the SEZs to attract investment have also been approved by the committee, while the rental fees on state-owned land have been adjusted to make them more appealing to potential investors. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in collaboration with the Office of Small and Medium Enterprises Promotion (OSMEP) and the Designated Areas for Sustainable Tourism Administration (DASTA), is co-organizing a Brainstorming Workshop toward the APEC Green Road: Promoting Responsible and Sustainable Tourism in Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) on 3-6 September 2018 in Chiang Mai. The workshop aims to support concrete implementation of the APEC Strategy for Green, Sustainable, and Innovative MSMEs. It is also a pilot activity leading to the establishment of an APEC Green Road, which will seamlessly connect green businesses in the Asia-Pacific Region by 2022. (06/09/2018)

The Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment revealed that the resumed sessions of the UNFCCCs subsidiary bodies and the Ad Hoc Working Group on the Paris Agreement are organized for 4-9 September 2018 at the United Nations Conference Centre (UNCC) in Bangkok. Representatives from 190 countries will focus on developing the implementation guidelines of the Paris Climate Change Agreement. The guidelines are needed to provide guidance on how to implement the agreement and to see transparently how countries are progressing in their actions. (05/09/2018)

The Government is preparing for the Thank you banquet, which is set for 6 September, for the rescuers of the Moo Pa Academy youth football team. The concept of the banquet is United as One. Thailand has won 16 gold, 4 silver, and 3 bronze medals in 26 skill areas from the 12th ASEAN Skills Competition. Thai participants who won the competition will represent Thailand in the WorldSkills Kazan 2019 in Russia on 22-27 August 2019. Singapore will be the host of the 13th competition in 2020. Nakhon Si Thammarat has unveiled a sightseeing route along the coast of the Gulf of Thailand, as part of the "Riviera Thailand" campaign. The 8-kilometer route linking Khao Phlai Dam and Ao Tong Yee shortens the distance between Sichon and Khanom districts by 30 km, while highlighting beautiful, cinema-like views of the Gulf of Thailand. The project is expected to develop the local economy and will contribute at least 5 percent to the GDP of the provinces in 2019. It will be completed by 2018 and will open for the public in 2019. Trang province has launched a campaign to enhance marketing opportunities, increase connections between local businesses, and expand their operations to the ASEAN region and other overseas markets. The project aims to increase their capabilities in the age of the Digital Society. The meeting will be taking place on 16-18 September 2018 at Rua Rasada Hotel in the southern province. (03/09/2018)
Prime Minister Gen. Prayut Chan-o-cha presented a contribution of three million baht to the Indonesian Ambassador to Thailand for supporting persons affected by the devastating earthquakes that struck Indonesia's Lombok Island on 29 July and 5 August 2018. He also reassured the ambassador that Thailand was ready to provide assistance to the Indonesian government. The disaster damaged 73,843 homes, leaving 431,416 people homeless. (31/08/2018)
