The Princesss Cup Thailand 2018 has kicked off its first competition with Eventing. The competition took place from 09.00 to 11.00 hr at the Royal Stable Unit, Sanam Pao, Bangkok. The competitions for this year include Dressage, Jumping, Best Farrier, and Best Groom. The results of the competitions will also be displayed on the website https://online.equipe.com and via the mobile application EQUIPE. (20/11/2018)
According to the Amendments to the Smart Visa Criteria and Benefits, the Board of Investment (BOI) revealed that the objective of the Smart Visa is to support technology and know-how transfer to Thais, which will drive industrial development and transformation in the country. The new conditions will better serve the Governments policy and goal to attract more highly skilled experts, investors, and foreign startups in targeted industries, to help transform the Thai economy and achieve the Thailand 4.0 goals. The Ministry of Tourism and Sports disclosed that the Cabinet approved the Amazing Thailand Grand Sale Passport Privileges campaign in order to encourage tourists to spend more in Thailand, with special discounts at malls from 15 November 2018 to 15 January 2019. The campaign has received cooperation from product producers, shopping malls, community malls, and credit card firms. Therefore, VAT refund facilities will be opened up at shopping malls and international airports for tourists. (17/11/2018)
The Government Spokesperson, Mr. Puttiphong Punnakan, disclosed that The Cabinet approved changing single-entry visas to double-entry visas, with travel required within six months, at the same fee of 1,000 baht per person. It aims to make it easier for tourists to visit neighboring countries and then return to Thailand without making another visa request, and they can stay on in Thailand within the period specified in the visa. The Ministry of Labor will give employment contracts to Thai workers that have been selected to work in South Korea by the Employment Permit System (EPS). The Ministry of Labors policy is to solve the problem about illegal workers by establishing a coordinating center to help Thai workers and negotiate with Korean organizations on any issue, including the renewal of employment permits from nine years to fourteen years. The Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Science and Technology, the National Science Museum, the Institute for the Promotion of Teaching Science and Technology, Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau, and GAMMACO (Thailand) Co., Ltd. will organize the World Robot Olympiad 2018 in Chiang Mai. Interested people can observe the event on 16-18 November 2018, from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Chiang Mai International Exhibition and Convention Center. (15/11/2018)

The Ministry of Public Health is campaigning for better food safety following a survey which has found that many eating behaviors of people could possibly lead to non-chronic diseases. In an effort to promote healthier eating, the MOPH has adjusted nutritional labels on food packages for easier understanding, and has introduced a healthy alternative food symbol shown on packages of foods which have been tested by the Institute of Nutrition to have an adequate level of sweetness, oiliness, and saltiness. The Government Spokesman has revealed that the Prime Minister commanded the Ministry of Interior and the army to help citizensin Prachuap Khiri Khan province move theirbelongings tohigher places. The cause of the floods in the South of Thailand, such as Bang Saphan district in Prachuap Khiri Khan and in other provinces, is the continuous rain at this time. Thailand Post is preparing for the Thailand 2018 World Stamp Exhibition at Siam Paragon, Bangkok. The event will showcase postcards from the personal collection of Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn, along with the national archives that record historic moments in Thailand from various eras, and rare stamp collectibles from around the world. Kobsak Pootrakool, Minister Attached to the Prime Ministers Office, has revealed that recently the Government has issued licenses for the establishment of foreign schools and universities in the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC) after previously approving five infrastructure projects in the zone. It is expected that the EEC project will turn Thailand into a high-tech society and an investment hub for innovations. (12/11/2018)
Chao Phraya riverside is one of the best locations in Bangkok, so the Government is planning to develop the Chao Phraya riverside and has started a mega-project. The project plans to cut a path along the riverside, but the path will allow bicycles and walking. Moreover, there are shopping centers, such as Iconsiam and Asiatique the Riverfront, as well as hotels. These will be some of the mega-projects that will open at the end of 2018. (12/11/2018)

The Secretariat of The House of Representatives revealed that the 9th World Scout Parliamentary Union (WSPU) General Assembly is scheduled on 12-14 November 2018 at Dusit Thani Hotel, Bangkok. The main purpose of the event is to strengthen the national scout organizations at the national level and support world scouting at the international level through the work of parliamentarians. It also aims to encourage the establishment of the National Scout Parliamentary Association (NPSA) under the parliamentary framework. (12/11/2018)

The price of coconuts in SuratThani, a province in the South of Thailand has fallen this year. The price is down to 2.50 baht each and it has an effect on the growers in SuratThani. The growers said that they want the Government to help them to bring up the coconut price and control the imports of coconuts to Thailand. Because of this economic problem, some of the growers have decided to sell their coconut farms. (09/11/2018)

The Ministry of Education revealed that the Ministry is going to prepare courses that respond to the development of target industries in the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC). The ministry has assigned the relevant agencies to cooperate with many other top foreign universities with an eye to setting up more new, high-quality universities in Thailand and producing a capable workforce for the EEC project. Icora, a crypto firm, has revealed that Thailand's crypto asset market could reach the top five in Asia in three years. The Thai market currently trades around 100 million baht's worth of cryptocurrencies per day and is ranked 10th by market capitalization. It is expected that the Thai market will grow by over 500% within the next few years to become one of the top five Asian markets for cryptocurrencies. (08/11/2018)
It is expected that the price of rice will increase later this year, so the Government is planning to help farmers. They will provide harvester machinery to farmers to help them bring in a high quantity of rice to sell at a good price between November and December. (08/11/2018)

The Ministry of Labor has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Office of the Vocational Education Commission on using Big Data analytics to connect and share information about manpower development and production planning. Under the MOU, both side will use Big Data analytics to exchange information on supply, demand, and productivity in order to come up with better manpower development and production planning. The Meteorological Department has warned people in southern Thailand to beware of possible flash floods caused by heavy rain until Saturday, 10 November. Nakhon Si Thammarat, Phatthalung, Songkhla, Pattani, Yala and Narathiwat, Surat Thani, Chumphon, and Prachuap Khiri Khan will be affected. (07/11/2018)
The Government Spokesperson, Mr. Puttiphong Punnakan, disclosed that the Cabinet approved a measure to waive for two months fees paid by visitors for visas on arrival. The fee of 2,000 baht will be waived from 1 December 2018 to 31 January 2019 for travelers from 21 countries, which are Andorra, Bulgaria, Bhutan, China, Cyprus, Ethiopia, Fiji, India, Kazakhstan, Latvia, Lithuania, Maldives, Malta, Mauritius, Papua New Guinea, Romania, San Marino, Saudi Arabia, Taiwan, Ukraine, and Uzbekistan. He congratulated the winners for raising the reputation of the country and spreading Thai culture to the international community.
