The First Four Members of the Soccer Team Have Been Brought Out of Tham Luang Cave

Head of the Command Center Narongsak Osottanakorn stated that the first four members of the Mu Pa Academy Mae Sai football team have been successfully brought out of Tham Luang cave in Chiang Rai province on Sunday, 8 July 2018.
 
Mr. Narongsak told a press conference that the success came on the 16th day of the mission to bring the 12 young footballers and their coach out of the flooded cave. The rescue operation has been launched in favorable conditions, as the water level in the cave has dropped significantly and the weather has also improved. The 13 people are also ready in terms of mental and physical conditions, as well as their parents and rescue teams.
 
All the four boys reached Chiangrai Prachanukroh Hospital in Muang district safely. 13 elite divers, including 3 technicians, carried out the rescue mission. He however stated that the operation involved more than 90 divers. Out of this number, over 50 are foreigners and about 40 are Thais.
 
The first member of the football team came out of the cave at 17.40 hrs and 20 minutes later, the second one came out. They were transferred to Chiangrai Prachanukroh Hospital by helicopter. The third person came out at 19.40 hrs and the fourth one at 19.50 hrs.
 
The next operation will be launched when everything is ready. More oxygen tanks will be replaced in the cave. The next stage of operation will begin in less than 20 hours, under the condition that the weather must be the same as that of 8 July.
