Search for Missing Young Football Players and Their Coach in Chiang Rai

1 July 2018 (Readers 356)

Thai and foreign rescue personnel are working around the clock in the search for missing young football players and their coach in Tham Luang Cave in the northern province of Chiang Rai.

Altogether the 13 people, comprising 12 young football players who are members of a local football club and their coach, are believed to be stranded inside the cave since 23 June 2018.

All eyes are focused on the cave in the hope of saving the 13 persons. Concerned over the missing people, His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn Bodindradebayavarangkun has monitored the situation and sent bags of necessities to rescue teams and the families of the missing people.

According to Chiang Rai Governor Narongsak Osoththanakorn, His Majesty also sent LED tubes for the Royal Thai Navys SEAL (Sea, Air, and Land) teams to use in their rescue operations inside the cave. His Majesty had earlier given his moral support to the families of the missing persons and encouragement to the rescue personnel.

There are many obstacles inside the cave, making the rescue operations difficult. All-out efforts have so far been stepped up to find the missing persons and save them.
