The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration has revealed that the first phase of the Gold Line project will start operating in October 2020 with a fee of 15 baht. The system is a monorail system with no drivers on board. Its first phase has three stations with a total distance of 1.7 kilometers: (G1) Krung Thonburi station, which is adjacent to the BTS station, (G2) Charoen Nakhon (ICONSIAM), and (G3) Khlong San station, which will connected to SRT Dark Red Line in the future. The second phase will be extended 1 kilometer to Pradjahipok, which will connect to the future MRT Purple Line southern extension. The monorail is the first rubber-tire, self-driving electric train in Thailand. With the Bombardier Innovia APM 300 automated people mover system and rubber tires, it can reduce noise and vibration levels. The train can travel at a maximum of 80 kilometers per hour.
